Locals beaten at NCAA wrestling championships
Red Lion graduate Eric Albright and Spring Grove graduate Cody Becker lost their first-round bouts at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships on Thursday.
Albright, a sophomore at the University of Virginia, lost an 8-2 decision to North Iowa’s Kyle Anson in the 133-pound bracket. Becker, a Millersville University junior, dropped a 9-4 decision to Cleveland State’s Ryan Hurley in the 149-pound bracket.
Both wrestlers moved to the consolation bracket, from which a wrestler can finish no better than third place.
